FWIW I fully agree. We have the same slight disagreement about the 
danish translation of Mercurial. The fine people doing the translation 
prefers to introduce new technical terms in order to make a full 
translation - I would rather do like you suggest. But this is a 
meritocracy, so the people who do the work gets to decide.

We must accept that there are different opinions on this topic, and that 
consistency and keeping the translators motivated is most important. 
Taken to the extreme: Having alternative translations (we could call 
them "national" and "pidgin") would be much better than a lot of 
discussion and disagreement and an incomplete and inconsistent 
translation ;-)
