Hello everyone,
I've been working on an Italian translation of "Mercurial: The
Definitive Guide" for some time now. Today, I finished to adjust the
latest details (mostly dealing with stuff around the book, not the
book itself) and decided to make it available to the general public.
The Italian book can be read at the following address:
http://gpiancastelli.altervista.org/hgbook-it
and (of course) there's a Bitbucket repository for the source code, at:
http://bitbucket.org/gpiancastelli/hgbook-it
The translation is complete, including all text, images, and code. I
left the original license text alone, though, just adding a note at
the beginning, because I wasn't sure about the legal value of its
"unofficial" translation, and because I've seen other published book
here in Italy doing the very same thing. Besides, I have made some
adjustments and corrections throughout the book (mainly for broken
code examples); if you are interested, you can see the full list of
modifications w.r.t. the original English book at:
http://bitbucket.org/gpiancastelli/hgbook-it/wiki/BookModifications
Any reader finding mistakes or willing to provide general feedback is
encouraged to do so by using the issue tracker on Bitbucket
(preferably) or directly contacting me at this address.
I hope my work will be useful for Italian Mercurial users.
Regards,
Giulio Piancastelli
