Cloning Part of a Repository

There are a few cases I have come across where I wanted to clone just
a single directory within a repository. I'd still like the ability to
easily pull changes to keep my clone up to date. In Subversion I could
just check out any directory in the repository. Is there a similar
feature in Mercurial?
