Another "hg diff" annoyance

Perhaps this is well known, but, one of my users was just surprised.

He had removed a file without "hg rm".

So eventually he ran into "abort: uncommitted changes".

hg diff? nothing
hg diff --git? nothing

Only by looking at hg stat could he figure out what was wrong.

Oddly enough, the "hg notify" email diff does the right thing.

Can't we make this a bit more user-friendly?
