group extension integration as GSoC project?

Hi,

Would integrating the group extension (and cleaning up its code) be a valid
GSoC project?

The current version is still a proof-of-concept. To be really useful it needs
to

* be integrated in every command which somehow shows a log (log, incoming,
outgoing, view, tortoisehg log, ...), ideally via some deeper function which
makes it easy for thirdparty apps to show groups and to still get a connected
history without reimplementing group detection and

* have a specialized merger for the .hggroups file to avoid bogus merge
conflicts

Also it needs a code overhaul to clean out its many rough parts.

Best wishes,
Arne
PS: I wanted to ask this for a long time, but with the group extension being
mostly my own design, it felt strange to propose it.
