different diff tools based on file endings

Hi,

sorry if this has been answered before but I could not find anything about
it.

I am looking for an extension that uses different diff tools based on the
ending of the files.
Especially for binary files like *.doc, *xls & co this would be very
helpful.
Maybe I can write such an extension myself but I rather use an existing one.

Does somebody know such an extension?
