So lets assume:
 - hg_process_A writes to repo_on_windows_share
 - hg_process_B does so, too, while hg_process_A thinks it has a lock
 - the process which finishes first will find that its lock is missing and complain?
If this is the case then I can be quite confident...

No, it's just that I have never used a central repo on a windows share before and remembered notes about filesystem quirks -- and colleagues asked me about the easiest way to have a central repo. Using "hg serve" and anything like http server, non-windows-server is not easy here.

So I'll advise them to go ahead and do 'hg verify' regularly.
