Branch or New Repo?

Note that "using named branches" and "using separate repos" are not
mutually exclusive choices.

You can give names to the branches and maintain a separate repo for each
named branch at the same time. (Plus another big one that contains all
the branches.) It is fairly easy to automatically synchronize these
repos in both way.
