delete directory

Hi,

how can I delete a directory from the repository ?
Assume I have:
./dir/file.txt

I'm trying:
hg remove dir
this removes directory and file from the workspace and removes only
file from repository, directory remains, that is rather annoying when
exploring repository. This seems to be very basic feature though I
didn't find the solution in google/mail list.
