delete directory

Hi,

how can I delete the directory from repository ?
Assume I have:
./dir/file.txt

I'm trying:
hg remove dir
this removes directory and file from the workspace and removes only
file from repository, directory remains, that is rather annoying when
exploring repository. This seems to be very basic feature though I
didn't find the solution on google/mail list.
