branching patterns - what do you think? what is the most recommend approuch on mercurial?

I found this two links interesting

What do you think guys?, it applies to the conventional concept of
branching and i would like to think that it has a lot of more impact
on mercurial as the tool allows you to choose any model, even wrong
ones. The question is not "should we conduct a parallel development
effort", but "how should a parallel development effort best be
conducted?"

So, using mercurial is not enough to have a good development workflow,
we need to think of good practices too and most of the time we are on
our own on that...
Any comments or pointers to other papers/books would be really helpful

* Specially practical experience.
