File permissions

Hi,
I am using mercurial version 1.0.1

I cloned a copy of repository from my team gate and I changed file
permission for one file in my local workspace. Now 'hg status' doesn't show
this file as modified. The only change to this file is the permission. Any
idea why this happens? How can I commit only the file permission change to
the repository?
