can i configure where temporary files go?

Hi Guys

I'm using DropBox to store the .hg/patches directory. Each time I do a  
qrefresh, I would see a temp file created uploaded to the service, and  
then the same file get removed. This might not waste a lot of space  
and bandwidth, but it makes me unhappy. Is there a way I can configure  
where the temp file is placed?
