I think the extensions should be off by default on debian too. They
can change the normal
behaviour, if they are all enabled it clutters the help.
If you don't have root access it's a pain to disable them (you have to
search how to do it).
For example since bisect was promoted to a builtin command, the
extension fails to load
and thus prints some warning to the output.
