For me 1.5 was the most recent version available when I last updated
(currently 1.6.1 is marked as stable in the Gentoo tree), and I didn't want to
unmask testing stuff - the release in portage gives me (for amd64) a look at
the performance of the versions which are readily available to careful users.

So for all which counts to me, bzr 1.6.1 is the most recent available version
which the Gentoo devs think stable on amd64.

*bzr-1.8 (18 Oct 2008)

  18 Oct 2008; Peter Volkov <pva at gentoo.org> -bzr-1.8_rc1.ebuild,
  +bzr-1.8.ebuild:
  Version bump.

Even bzr-1.7 was added to the Gentoo tree after hg-1.0.2.

Still I'd be glad to see tests of Mercurial and bzr development versions side
by side (that seems to me like the only fair test, since releases will always
give the one with the later release an advantage).

Best wishes,
Arne
