I had a quick try, but it sat in a loop of

reparent to svn://svn.lyx.org/lyx
reparent to svn://svn.lyx.org/lyx/lyx-devel/trunk

which I see your version did too, for a few thousand goes. Sorry, I
haven't time to leave it now. How long do you expect it to take before
it gets to the bit where it hangs?
