It seemed to me that he didn't really have any plans with it -- and seeing
as he published it under the Open Publication license, I think he wouldn't
mind if we take it a little further, without diminishing his attribution.

Yes, I see the same. I have been looking at them, but wanted to verify
closely that all the changes are superficial, or if not, why they have
changed and if it's intentional. For that, I need to dive in bit more and
find out exactly how this thing fits together.

Depends on the patch size, of course. Trivial or clear patches (that is,
typos or clearly-good content improvements) can go in within 24-48 hours,
usually. For now, I'll need some time to figure the example tests, but if
people send in patches that don't change the state of the example tests,
that would be alright. Might need a few days to get that fixed and publish
an up-to-date version.

No, I meant the mercurial-dev list. I'm not sure it would be a good idea to
mix patches for Mercurial and the book on one list, though. Maybe an extra
list should be set up, but that would seem like overkill while we don't know
how much interest there is in contributing patches.
