I appreciate that Bryan wrote and published the book.
I do not know his plans - I would not be surprised if he would like to
sell the rights for paper publishing to O'Reilly or someone similar one
day, but honestly as the book says 'I also hope that readers will
contribute as they see fit' I had expected him to at least arrange for an
interim maintainer when he got to know that he will be busy for a long
time.

Thank you very much for this, this is most welcome!
I can see that the 'running examples' section in the Makefile is not
executing properly due to changes in the Mercurial output.
Can you please confirm you see the same?
If yes, I could fix the output that is used for comparison and send you
some patches - unless somebody else wants to do it - I just want to avoid
double work. I would need some time, as for some changes it is not clear
to me whether the example is working correctly.
How soon can we expect you to integrate them once you receive patches?
Regarding a development list for the book - I was not aware that something
existed. Can you share details?
