Automatic tagging

I'm pretty sure it would. My understanding is, when one repository
creates a changeset with parent A, and another repository also creates a
changeset with parent A, then a merge is necessary. Usually, this
wouldn't be a problem, as long as the changesets are disjoint, but if -
for example - in both repositories a new tag is set (one by the
autobuilder and one manually by a developer for example) I suspect a
manual merge would be necessary. I know, this probably happens in only
one of a 1000 cases, but for automatic stuff, it is not feasible to rely
on hope that it works ;-)
