Only if we would put the build results of each directory into its own 
subdirectory created specifically for that purpose and having a name that 
could be easily selected by a pattern.

For this particular commercial company project we are not able to change 
the structure as the project has been around for years and our integration 
team would most definitely rip our heads off if we suggested this ;-)

At least some of us are a bit adventurous and so we use Mercurial as 
alternative system to support quick development outside of the main source 
management system.
