how to recover an inconsistent repository?

Unfortunately, it seems that hg convert (at least as it exists in 0.9.4)
cannot use Hg as input.  Also, I cannot use git as an intermediate
because hg-fast-import.sh breaks on this repository exactly because
these files are missing.
