abort: unknown revision

Hi all,

I was a happy mercurial user until this afternoon, when I tried to
update one of my repositories and I've got the next message:

abort: unknown revision 'DÚjyV(r)4(r)nÃâ;œÄ­'!

I don't know if I did something to screw up my repository, but I can't
remember any unusual action that could cause this mess. Fortunately,
the distributed nature of Mercurial allow me to recover without major
problems (cloning other repos). But I'd like to know much about this
kind of situations.

Any idea?
