hg push problem

Hi all,
  I had this strange problem with "hg push". When I tried

  $ hg push ssh://yubaaba.ccs.brandeis.edu/~/playground/mercurial/first/

all I got was

  bash: line 1: hg: command not found

I do not understand what this means since hg worked fine locally (e.g. I can
do "hg pull http://selenic.com/hg/" and "hg serve -p 5282"). I am using
mercurial version f6c6fa15ff70. Have any of you see such a problem? Any
suggestion for how to fix it? Thanks!
