firmware_class: skip timeout in request_firmware during boot

Hi again,

I wrote to the list a week or so ago with a patch to make
request_firmware skip the usual delay if it can determine
that userspace is not going to provide the firmware image,
and asking for feedback. So far, I have received some
suggestions, which helped me improve the patch. Now my
question is: What should I do with the patch? I would
particularly like some advice as to who to send the patch
to, since the firmware_class subsystem is tagged as orphan
in the MAINTAINERS file.
